Schertler, Agnes (19 Apr. 1855 - 22 Sept. 1934)
Mrs. Agnes Schertler of Abbotsford died from a stroke Saturday morning at 6:30 at her home after an illness of five days. Funeral services were held Monday morning at St. Bernard’s Catholic church, Rev. J. Novak officiating. The pall bearers were B. Van Rooy, Edward Feala, Joseph Elfert, William Nagel, Frank Wiese and Joseph Beil.
The deceased was born in Bohemia on April 19th, 1855. She was married to Joseph Weber in 1874 at Bohemia. To this union four children were born: Mrs. Anna R. Hall, of Minneapolis; Frank L. Weber, Dorchester; Joseph C. Weber, Greenwood, and a daughter, Mrs. Mary Hoffman, Murdock, Kan., who died in 1920. The family came to America in 1886, settling on a farm, six and a half miles northeast of Medford, where Mr. Weber died in 1889. Six years later she married Louis Schertler, Dorchester, Wis. A daughter, Mrs. Rose Beil, Westboro, was born to this union. In 1914, Mr. and Mrs. Schertler moved to Abbotsford, where they have since resided.
