Scheibe, Henry John (15 Aug. 1903 - 31 Oct. 1934)

Funeral services for Henry John Scheibe, whose death was reported last week, were held at the Evangelical church at Dorchester Saturday, Nov. 3rd, Rev. Schieler of Athens officiating and internment was made in the Memorial cemetery at Dorchester, Wis.

The pall bearers were Edmo Barker, Joseph Budrers, Oscar Olson, Fred Leonhardt, Clifford Anderson and Elmer Schultz. The flower girls were the Misses Gladys Anderson, Marion Scheibe, Margaret Sterzinger, Mae Zahorka, Caroline Scheibe and Vera Dean Robinson.

The deceased was born at Dorchester, Wis., August 15, 1903, thus reaching the age of thirty-one years, two months and nineteen days. He was married to Adeline Sterzinger, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank A. Sterzinger, at Colby on June 30th, 1930. He passed on to the distant shore on Wednesday morning, Oct. 31, a ruptured appendix and hernia being the cause of his death. He is survived by his widow; two children, LaVone, age three, and Dale, age two; his mother, Mrs. Emma Scheibe; and three brothers and six sisters, namely - Alfred Scheibe of Athens, Arthur Scheibe of Abbotsford, Geo. Scheibe of Dorchester, Mrs. Delia Mayles of Chicago, Mrs. Marie Minkema of Chicago, Mrs. Theo. Glover of Chicago, Mrs. Edith Lawrence of Milwaukee, Mrs. Ethel Rankle of Dorchester and Mrs. Ruth Koffernus of Abbotsford, Wis.

The out of town people here for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. John Minkema and Mrs. Thomas Glover of Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Lawrence, Miss Caroline Scheibe and Mrs. John Sterzinger of Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Scheibe. Mrs. Elsie Ellingson and Mr. and Mrs. Otto Parge of Athens, Mr. and Mrs. Frank G. Sterzinger and Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Dalke of Edgar, Mr. and Mrs. Ferdinand Jicinski, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Rusch and Mrs. Otto Reditske of Stratford, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Scheibe. Mr. James A. Robinson and daughter, Vera Dean, Mr. and Mrs. George Sterzinger, Mr. and Mrs. Matt Aller, Jr., and Sr., Mr. and Mrs. Frank Sterzinger and family, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Zahorka and family of Colby.

The deceased was an industrious worker, always trying to do his duty as he saw it, and a kind and indulgent husband and father. His congenial disposition won him many friends who will also miss his untimely departure.
