Duvall, Madelyn (Witte) (09 Dec. 1913 - 03 Aug 2007)
Madelyn Duvall, 93, Colby, died Friday, August 3rd, 2007, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield.
Funeral services were held August 7th, at First United Church of Christ, Colby. Burial was in Colby Memorial Cemetery with the Reverend Kenneth Dix presiding. Grandsons and great-grandson served as pallbearers.
Madelyn was born December 9th, 1913, in the Town of Hull to Otto and Minnie (Pacholke) Witte. She married Melvin Duvall on June 17th, 1936 in Colby. Melvin died on September 17th, 1975.
Madelyn taught in the Colby area and farmed with Melvin in the Town of Hull until 1975. She was a member of First United Church of Christ, the Women’s Guild, Cherokee Homemakers, 4-H Sewing Club and the Royal Neighbors.
She is survived by her children, Lyle (Bev) Duvall, Colby, Allen (Carol) Duvall, Colby and Janalee (Franklin) Gustafson, Colby, five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and one sister, Ione Fitzel, Colby.
