Reddan, James H. (4 FEB 1837 - 19 SEP 1900)
James H. Reddan died Wednesday, Sept. 19, shortly before noon, at the Merchants Hotel (Neillsville, Clark Co., Wis.), from inflammation of the bowels, aged 63 years.
Mr. Reddan was born at Huntley, Carleton Co., Canada, moved to Cleveland, Ohio in 1865, soon after to Muskegon, Mich., and then here. He married the widow of Len Stafford in 1872. He leaves two brothers, John A. and Andrew E., and four sisters, Mary Reddan, Mrs. Elliott, Jenn, of Buffalo, and Lizzie in Canada.
He has been prominent as a logger and land owner for many years here, and as a Republican wheelhorse, warm-hearted, and ready at a moment’s notice to aid a friends at whatever cost in money or personal effort.
He was always tremendously energetic, until of late, when he had noticeably failed in health, and his was a face familiar in every part of the county. He was generous to a fault, and had a large circle of warm friends.
As we go to press the date of the funeral has not been fixed.
