LOYAL -- James Armand Johnson, 84, of Loyal, died Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2007, in the Palliative Care Unit of Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, 2007, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Loyal.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Cremainal interment will take place at a later date at Tabor Lutheran Cemetery in Webster, S.D.
James was born April 7, 1923, at home in rural Webster, S.D., to Jacob A. and Anna S. (McCarlson) Johnson. Jim entered the U.S. Army and served overseas until his honorable discharge. He married Verna Helwig on Sept. 23, 1966, in Webster. Jim worked as a mechanic at Mid-State Truck Service in Marshfield for many years and retired from V&H Heavy Trucks where he worked as a mechanic for more than 25 years.
He is survived by his wife, Verna of Loyal; son, Jake (Roxy) Johnson, Wausau; stepson, Jozef Wroblewski, Santa Cruz, Calif.; stepdaughter, Dyann Scheel, Loyal; two grandchildren and two stepgrandchildren; four sisters, Sylvia (Earl) Luchterhand, Neillsville, Carola Davidson, Webster, S.D., Marilyn (Al) Hemmingson, Bradley, S.D., and Lillian (Eddie) Piers of Webster, S.D.
Cuddie Funeral Home of Loyal is assisting the family with arrangements
