Brotherton, Theodore Richard (5 June 1870 - 16 Apr. 1935)
Ted Brotherton, a former Colbyite, died Tuesday morning at the Marathon county hospital at Wausau, where he had been the past year, cancer being the cause of his death. Funeral services will be held at the Colby M. E. church Friday afternoon, Rev. C. Paul Nulton officiating, and internment will be made in the Colby cemetery.

Funeral services for Theodore Richard Brotherton, whose death was chronicled last week, were held at the Colby M. E. church Friday, April 19, Rev. C. Paul Nulton officiating, and internment was made in the Colby cemetery. Pall bearers were Charles Huhn, Gust Brehm, Howard Harris, Henry Aderhold, Henry Forbish and Mr. Spencer.
The deceased was born at Black River Falls, Wis., June 5, 1870, thus reaching the age of sixty-four years, ten months and eleven days. He came to Marathon county with his parents in 1866 from Baraboo, Wis., and was engaged in farming. He was married to Emma Tinney in Colby on July 4th, 1898.
He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Ruth McKenzie of Reading, Mich., and five grand children. Also the following brothers and sisters: Robert Brotherton of Colby, Alvin Brotherton of Colby, Richard Brotherton of Manitowoc, Thomas Brotherton of Tacoma, Wash., Mrs. Kate Harford of Princeton, Idaho, Maud Brotherton of Priceton, Wis. His parents, two brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.
The deceased was very kind hearted and always endeavored to please.
