Sokolewski, Mary (5 MAR 1867 - 22 JUN 1937)

Mrs. Mary Sokolewski of the town of Reseburg (Clark Co., Wis.), died at St. Joseph’s Hospital at Chippewa Falls, on Tuesday, June 22, 1937, of Carcinoma of the stomach, aged seventy years. Deceased was born in Germany on March 5, 1867 and came to this country in 1880. In 1887 she was united in marriage to Joseph Sokolewski in Chicago and in 1904 they located on a farm in the town of Reseburg. Left to mourn are her husband, Joseph Sokolewski and four sons, Bernard, Frank and Leo of Thorp, and Bernie of Vancouver, Canada; two daughters, Amanda (Mrs. Paul Kubera) and Veronica (Mrs. Leo Dulek) both of Thorp; one brother, John Beaver of Chicago; and two sisters, Mrs. Rose Maday of Evansville, Ind., and Anna Bauer of Chicago.

The funeral was held at St. Hedwig’s Church from the Bogumill Funeral Home Chapel on Friday morning, June 25th, Rev. F. A. Kulig officiating, burial taking place in the parish cemetery.

Pallbearers serving were: Mike Hatarski, John Pajak, John Romanowicz, Peter Zukowski, Carl Onisczuk and John Bochniak.
