Schwarze, Vern (13 Nov 1949 - 09 Aug 2007)

Vern Schwarze, 57, Town of Unity, died Thursday, August 9th, 2007.

Funeral services were held August 12th, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, North Spencer, Reverend Rebekah Tarras Presided.

Full military rites were conducted by the Stratford VFW. Pallbearers were Travis, Troy and Tyler Hardrath, Ryan Szep, J. D. Gullixson, Paul and David Fischer.

Vern was born November 13th, 1949, in Neillsville, the son of Orlin and Bernice (Hintz) Schwarze.

He served his country in the US Army during the Viet Nam War, receiving the combat infantry bade and parachute badge. Because of his devotion to duty, he received the Army Commendation in 1969.

Vern and Luanne Hardrath were united in marriage on September 11th, 1971. He was employed with Land O’Lakes in Spencer for 24 years, retiring in 1999.

He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing and playing cards. Vern was a member of the Marshfield DAV Chapter #57 and the Stratford VFW. He studied to be a lay minister for two years.

Vern is survived by his wife, Luanne Schwarz, Unity; two daughters, Penni (Anthony) Cloud, Unity and Joy Schwarze, Unity; one son Eric Schwarze, Hanford, CA; three sisters, Lila Gullixson, Madison, Ardith (Henry) Fisher, Owen and Marion (Frank) Szep, Lisbon; one brother Lynn Schwarze, National City, CA and one grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Maurina-Community Funeral Hone assisted the family with arrangements.
