Carpenter, Cathryn D. (Marriage - 7 Sept. 1935)
A pretty wedding took place at St. Bernard’s Catholic church at Abbotsford Saturday morning, Rev. J. J. Novak performing the ceremony, when Miss Cathryn D. Carpenter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Carpenter of Abbotsford, became the bride of Mr. Arlyn Brunkhorst, son of Mrs. H. Brunkhorst, also of Abbotsford and at one time a resident of Colby. Miss Marie Carpenter, sister of the bride, acted as bridesmaid and the groom was attended by James Vandehey.
The bride was attired in a dress of transparent dark blue velvet and matching accessories and blue hat and veil completed her costume. Her bouquet consisted of Johanna Hill roses and swansonia. The bridesmaid wore a rust crepe dress with brown accessories and carried a colonial bouquet in shades of peach. The church was decorated with gladioli and mixed flowers.
Following the ceremony, breakfast was served the bridal party at the home of the bride’s mother. The newlyweds spent a few days on a wedding trip through Northern Wisconsin and Michigan. They will make their home in Abbotsford, Wis.
