Hawkins, Ben (1 AUG 1882 - 30 JUL 1937)
Ben Hawkins, known as Ben Okonski, died at Wallace, Idaho of bronchial pneumonia, while employed as a cook at a hotel in that city.
Deceased was born in Poland on Aug. 1, 1882 and had reached the age of 54 years, eleven months and 29 days. In 1891 he arrived in America and has since resided at Kent, Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) and Wallace, Idaho. He leaves to mourn, two brothers, Harry and Edward of Thorp, and three sisters, Mrs. Matt Millus, Sophie Machinsky, Collinsville, Ill., and Mrs. Mary Zawacki, Dent, Minn.
Funeral services were held at St. Hedwig’s Church on Monday, Aug. 9th at eight a.m., Rev. F.A. Kulig officiating.
The pallbearers were: Jos. Tobola, Adam Lesniewski, Stanley Zawacki, William Brzeszynski, Anton Malinowski and Peter Stszeszynski.
