Johnson, Forrest L. (12 Nov. 1918 - 21 Sept. 1982)
Colby - Forrest L. Johnson, 63, of Unity died at 8:21 p.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Unity, with the Rev. Elton H. Moore officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitations will be at the Rux / Lulloff Funeral Home after 3 p.m. Friday.
He was born Nov. 12, 1918 in the Town of Brighton and received his education in Unity schools. He married the former Genevieve Misener June 28, 1941 in Trinity Lutheran Church, Unity.
He owned and operated Johnson Garage in Unity and later in Colby. His sons presently operate the Colby garage.
He was a World War II veteran, serving for two years at Fort Knox in Kentucky. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Unity, the Unity American Legion, was formerly fire chief of Unity and president of the Village of Unity for 10 years.
Surviving, are his wife, two sons, Loren and Michael of Colby, two daughters, Mrs. Larry (Sandra) Stonman of Madison and Tammi Johnson of Stevens Point, six grandchildren, three brothers, Darrel of Hillside, Ill., Norman of LaGrange, Ill., and Ronald of Chicago, and one sister, Elaine Johnson of Worth, Ill.
He was predeceased by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Johnson.
Honorary pallbearers are Harry Mandel, Donald Gipp, Bud Schultz and Stan Hesgaard.
Pallbearers are George Miller, Leo Bloom, Leon Jost, George Weder, Steward Salter and Ray Gurtner.
