Wieland, Albert (30 Jan. 1879 - 7 Aug. 1944)
Unity, Wis. - Funeral services for Albert Wieland, 65, of Unity, who died of complications Monday, Aug. 7, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock at the Wieland home and at 2 o’clock at Trinity Lutheran Church, Unity.
The Rev. Arthur Almquist will have charge of the services, and burial will be made in the Lutheran cemetery at Unity. The body will be home after Wednesday evening.
Mr. Wieland was born in Germany Jan. 30, 1879, and came to this country when a small boy, living at Spencer a short time. His parents moved to a farm west of Unity, where he spent his boyhood and early manhood.
After his marriage to Tina Ewald in June 1902, in the Town of Unity, he lived with his wife on a farm about a mile west of Unity. Several years later they moved to the village.
Surviving besides his wife are two sons, Lawrence, State of Washington, and Raymond, Town of Unity; two grandchildren; his father, Ferdinand Wieland, 94, Oregon City, Ore.; and six brothers and sisters, Mrs. Ed (Bertha) Johnson and Walter Wieland, both of Unity; Mrs. F. (Mary) Hopp and Charles Wieland, both of Oregon City, Ore.; Mrs. Adolph (Minnie) Luloff, Dodgeville; and Mrs. August (Annie) Wellman, Antioch, Ill.
A brother, Herman, preceded him in death.
Mr. Wieland underwent a major operation at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, Oct. 16, 1943 and at that time had been hospitalized for six weeks.
