Mabbott, Faith Audrey (Marriage - 21 Aug. 1954)

The Rev. Harvey Schall officiated at the 7:30 o’clock candlelight ceremony Saturday evening which united in marriage Miss Faith Audrey Mabbott, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B. W. Mabbott, Unity and Ernest A. Matson, son of Mrs. Mary Matson, Alma Center.

Before the entry of the bridal party into the sanctuary the groom sang "Because" and then the bride, escorted by her father, proceeded to the altar. While the couple knelt at the altar Mrs. Dorothy Fuller sang "The Lord’s Prayer." The groom’s sister, Miss Beulah Matson sang "The Nuptial Benediction." Mrs. Thomas Loughead was the organist.

A nylon net yoke and long sleeves of lace detailed the bodice of the Chantilly lace over satin bridal gown. The full length gathered lace skirt was fashioned with a nylon tulle ruffle cascade down the front. A Juliet cap of lace and net secured the finger-tip veil of tulle. The bride carried a white Bible on which rested a large orchid surrounded by swainsona.

Bridal attendants were Miss Jane Andrews, Spencer, cousin of the bride as maid of honor, and Miss Ruby McEarthron of Holcomb and Miss Lois Dahl of Chetek, as bridesmaids. They carried sprays of gladioli and carnations in yellow and white with their floor length gowns styled with lace bodices, matching jackets and skirts of net over taffeta.

A yellow taffeta full-length gown with matching jacket and overskirt of tiered tulle was worn by Karen Lane Stewart of Owen, flower girl, who was escorted by Lee Stewart of Owen as ringbearer.
