Elstrom, Viola #2 (24 Sept. 1902 - 19 Aug. 1979)

Colby - Mrs. Carl (Viola) Elstrom, 76, Colby, died Sunday morning at her home. Death followed a lengthy illness.

Services are set for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Zion Lutheran Church, the Rev. Robin O. Fink officiating. Burial will be in the town of Beaver Cemetery.

Visitation was scheduled for after 2 p.m. today at Rux-Lulloff Funeral Home.

The former Viola Goutcher was born Sept. 24, 1902 in the town of Beaver. In 1921, she was married to Louis Scheel. They farmed in the town of Beaver until 1946 when they bought a northern Minnesota resort which they operated until 1953 when Mr. Scheel died.

She was a member of Colby Senior Citizens, Zion Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid.

In 1969, she was married to Carl Elstrom. He survives.

Also surviving are five children, Mrs. Andrew (Elaine) Mannikko of Minnesota, Rod Scheel of Utah, Eileen Pannarale of Utah, and Jean and William Scheel, both of California; four stepchildren, Lee Elstrom of Skokie, Ill., Art Elstrom of Chicago, Doris Seboe of Horicon and Mrs. Herb (Shirley) Witte of Waunakee; 26 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Alvin Goutcher of Spencer.

Three brothers and five sisters are deceased.
