Roohr, William (25 Dec. 1875 - 15 Dec. 1948)

Riplinger - William Roohr, 72, died last midnight at his home at Riplinger. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Riplinger, the Rev. August Quandt officiating. Internment will take place in Beaver cemetery and the body will lie in state at the Loyal Funeral Home.

Mr. Roohr was born in Clark County Dec. 25, 1875, received his education there, and was a farmer the past 40 years. He was married in 1905 to Elizabeth Raeck.

Surviving besides his wife are five children, Mrs. Richard Witte, Mrs. Lawrence Newman, Mrs. Paul Heine, and William Roohr Jr., all of Riplinger, and Adam Roohr, Milwaukee. Two children, George and Edna, preceded him in death.

Other survivors are 11 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and seven brothers and sisters, Fred, Colby; John and Mrs. Mary Stowell, both of Owen; Annie, Milwaukee; Mrs. Maggie Sunnar, California; Jake, Pittsville; and Mrs. Hazel Carrington, Ladysmith. A brother, George, and a sister, Lettie, are dead.
