Hebert, Leland Chester #2 (28 Aug. 1923 - 10 July 2003)
Leland C. Hebert, 79, Loyal, died on Thursday, July 10, 2003, at the Colonial Center, Colby. Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 19, at the Loyal United Methodist Church, for one hour prior to a 2 p.m. funeral service. The Rev. Wendell Williams will officiate. Internment will follow in the Town of Beaver Cemetery.
Leland Chester Hebert was born on Aug. 28, 1923, to Chester and Signe (nee Johnson) Hebert. He was raised on the family farm and educated in the Town of Beaver. He married Verla Seefeld on June 30, 1943, in Colby. He farmed in the Town of Beaver and also logged and hauled milk. He later worked for Foremost Farms in Owen where he hauled whey products. He retired in 1986. His interests included reading, fishing, hunting, parting out motors, and chocolate. He was a past member of the Oak Grove School Board, Rip Riders Snowmobile Club, and the Riplinger Sportsmans Club.
Survivors include his wife, Verla, four children, Terry (Lil) Hebert, Greenwood; Richard (Wendy) Hebert, Unity; Kris (Dean) Schweiger, Loyal; and Duane Hebert, Loyal; 31 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Gloria Lea Vesseur, Chippewa Falls.
Preceding him in death were his parents, and one brother, Leroy, in infancy.
Cuddie Funeral Home, Loyal, is assisting the family with arrangements.
