Elstrom, Carl (13 Apr. 1901 - 26 July 1988)

Juneau - Carl Elstrom, 87, Juneau, formerly of Colby; died Tuesday at Clearview Nursing Home, Juneau.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church, Colby, with the Rev. Mark G. Neumann officiating. Burial will be in the Colby Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Robert and Bruce Witte, Delvon Seeboe, Robert Elstrom, Verton Weatherly and Richard Tonn.

Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today at the Rux Funeral Home, Colby, and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the church.

He was born April 13, 1901, in Atwood.

He married Verna Frome Dec. 4, 1923, in Colby. She died Dec. 11, 1967. He then married Viola Scheel in May 1969. She died in August 1979. He farmed in the town of Colby until 1950, when he moved to Bristol. He moved back to Colby in 1963 and moved to Juneau in 1982.

He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.

He is survived by two sons, Lee of Morton Grove, Ill., and Arland of Keithsbury, Ill.; a daughter, Mrs. Dallas (Doris) Seeboe of Horicon and Mrs. Hubert) Shirley Witte of Waunakee; a sister, Mrs. William (Lucille) Larson of Madison; 16 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

Besides his wives, he was predeceased by his parents, two brothers and four sisters.
