Schultz, Esther Irene (5 July 1900 - 22 Aug. 1941)

Unity, Wis. - Funeral services will be conducted at Trinity Lutheran Church at 2 p.m. Monday for Mrs. William Schultz, 41, who died of embolism in St. Mary’s Hospital, Wausau, at 4 p.m. Friday.

Mrs. Schultz had been in poor health all summer and had gone to the Wausau hospital two weeks ago, submitting to a major operation, 10 days ago.

The Rev. J. A. Olson will have charge of the rites Monday and burial will take place at Loyal.

Born in Beaver Township, Clark County, on July 5, 1900, Esther Irene Goutcher was married to William Schultz on Jan. 17, 1922. They moved to Unity in 1925 and had lived here since.

Mrs. Schultz was active in the affairs of the Lutheran Church, which she joined in 1931, and was also an active member of the school band parents’ organization.

She is survived by her husband and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Goutcher of Beaver Township, three children, a stepson, and five brothers and a sister.

The children are William, 18, Irene, 15, and June, 12, and the stepson, Orville Schultz, Unity. Brothers and sister are Henry Goutcher, Ladysmith; Ed, in the West; Alvin, on the home farm; Maynard, Minneapolis; Raymond, Hull Township; and Mrs. Louis Scheel, Green Grove.
