Strey, Raymond A.(Oct 6, 1917 - Aug 27, 2007)

Raymond A. Strey, age 89, of 1624 S. Central Ave., died on Monday, Aug. 27, 2007, at his home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 31, 2007, at St. John's Catholic Church. The Rev. Charles D. Stoetzel will officiate and Suzanne Golden will be the organist for St. John's Church Funeral Choir. Burial will take place in Gate of Heaven Cemetery and grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

The visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Rembs/Kundinger Funeral Home and from 9:30 a.m. until service time Friday at the church. A Parish Rosary Service will be held at 4 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Ray was born on Oct. 6, 1917, in the town of York, Clark County, to Robert and Anna (Thomas) Strey. He graduated from Ramadka School in the town of York. He married Alberta J. Lloyd on May 29, 1948, at St. John's Catholic Church, Marshfield. The Streys farmed in the town of Loyal for 41 years. Ray was also employed at Rollohome Corporation, Marshfield, for several years. They moved to Marshfield in 1989.

He is survived by his wife, Alberta; and his children, Jean (Joe) Faber of Marshfield, Mike (Vicki) Strey of Wittenberg, Duane (Jeanne) Strey of Granton, Ruth (Dennis) Erickson of Spencer, Terry Strey of Grafton, Ronald (Diane) Strey of Marshfield, Daniel (Dawn) Strey of Sheldon, and Margaret Strey of Marshfield. He is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and one stepgreat-granddaughter. He is further survived by his brothers and sisters, Elsie Fricke of Marshfield, Ernie Strey of Necedah, Hazel (Marvin) Seeman of Unity, Helen Domine of Loyal, Eralin Strey of Osseo, Victor Strey, of Marshfield, LaVerne Morin of Menomonee Falls, Norma Potter of Marshfield, Ceylan (Marge) Strey of Elkhorn and Robert (Joan) Strey of Franklin.

He was predeceased by his parents.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated in his name to Ministry Home Hospice Care or to St. John's Parish.
