Puttkamer, Helen Lillian (Marriage - 7 March 1942)
Miss Helen Lillian Puttkamer, daughter of Mrs. Susan Puttkamer, Neillsville, and Harold Joseph Kren, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kren of Levis Township, were united in marriage at three p.m. Saturday March 7, at Milwaukee. The single ring ceremony was performed by a Lutheran Minister.
Miss marian Puttkamer, a sister of the bride, and the groom’s brother, Walter Kren, Neillsville acted as witnesses.
The bride wore a navy blue crepe afternoon dress, trimmed with white military braid and white buttons. Her attendant wore a black afternoon gown. The mother, Mrs. Puttkamer also wore black.
Mrs. Kren was graduated from the Neillsville High School in 1938. She served her apprenticeship as a beauty operator in one of the local shops, working at her profession here for about two and one-half years. She is an artist in this line of work, her departure to Milwaukee earlier in the winter being deeply regretted by those whom she served. Mr. Kren is a young farmer, going to the city last fall where he secured work in a factory.
The couple will live for a time at the home of the groom’s sister, 4022 West Fairmont Ave., Milwaukee.
