Hoff, Ethel E. (29 MAY 1938)

Mr. Lawrence Boardman, son of Mr. and Mrs. M.C. Boardman of this village (Thorp, Clark Co., Wis.), and Miss Ethel E. Hoff, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George P. Hoff of Curtiss, Clark Co., were quietly married at the Green Grove Lutheran Parsonage at four o’clock Sunday afternoon by Rev. M.C. Goetsch. They were attended by Mr. and Mrs. John McCorison of Marshfield. Other relatives present at the ceremony were: Mr. and Mrs. M.C. Boardman, Mr. and Mrs. George P. Hoff and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Mayer of Milwaukee. The bride and bridesmaid were attired in navy blue dresses with matching accessories and the bride wore a should corsage of red roses. The groom and best man wore navy blue.

A reception to the couple was held after the ceremony at the home of the bride’s parents and a wedding dance took place in the Curtiss community hall in the evening which was attended by a large number of friends of the couple from Thorp and Curtiss, Wis.

On Monday the newlyweds left on a honeymoon to Milwaukee and other points. On their return they will make their home in Thorp where Mr. Boardman is interested in the United Super Service Station with his father. The "Courier" joins the throng of friends in tendering best wishes.
