Barck, Violet (? - 7 April 1942)
Mrs. Violet Barck, who came here in September, 1938, to make her home with her niece, Mrs. Fred Balch, died at 6:30 Tuesday morning, April 7, at the Balch home where she had been cared for during her long illness.
Mrs. Barck was born in Waukesha County, Wis., to Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Spaulding, who were among the first settlers in that section of the state. The departed was a member of the "Pioneer Girls of Minnesota," and old club organized by the daughter of the pioneers in her home community, Mrs. Barck having lived in Rock County since she was a child of five.
She was married to Albert Barck who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Barck was the youngest sister of the late Mrs. George F. Jacques of Neillsville, at whose home she visited many times. She also visited occasionally at the homes of her niece and nephew, Mrs. F. O. Balch and Attorney George L. Jacques in this city.
Cultured and refined, Mrs. Barck was a delightful person to meet. These beautiful traits of character, combined with her charitable and sympathetic nature remained a part of her life even through the years of illness.
She also was a capable business woman, at one time managing several large farms which she owned in Rock County.
Mr. and Mrs. William Jacques Prescott, Wis., and Mrs. Balch left Tuesday, afternoon for Luverne, Minnesota, where Christian Science services will be held. The body will be interred there.
