Gruber, Frank (1 OCT 1880 - 6 JUL 1938)
Frank Gruber, a brother of Mrs. John G. Bogumill of this village (Thorp, Clark Co., Wis.), and a former resident of Stanley, died at his home in Mica, Wash. The body was shipped to Thorp and arrived here Sunday, accompanied by the widow and niece, Mrs. Kendall of Iowa City, Ia., and lay in state at the Bogumill Funeral Home.
Mr. Gruber was born in Germany, Oct. 1, 1880, and had reached the age of 57 years, 9 months and 5 days. He came to this country 52 years ago, residing in Stanley for twenty-seven years. He went west at that time on account of ill health and finally located in Mica, Wash., where he operated a store and post office until his retirement four years ago. On Oct. 8, 1925, he was united in marriage to Margaret Corridan of Spokane, Wash., who survives him. Other surviving relatives are three brothers, Mat, Anton and John of Stanley, four sisters, Mrs. John G. (Hannah) Bogumill, Thorp, Mrs. Nick (Grace) Jankoski and Mrs. Theo. Heiting of Stanley, and Mrs. B. (Susan) Meade of Cloquet, Minn.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Pitzenberger at St. Ann Church, Stanley, at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, interment being made in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers were; Richard Moore, Kenneth Urqhart, Paul and Stephen Gospodar, Mick Jordan and George Thierl.
