Meyer, George (15 JUL 1889 - 25 JUL 1938)
George Meyer, a farmer resident of the town of Reseburg (Clark Co., Wis.) for the past forty years, died at his home there on Monday, July 25th, 1938, of old age infirmities.
Mr. Meyer was born in School Hill, Manitowoc Co., Wis., on April 21, 1859, and reached the ripe old age of 79 years, 3 months and 23 days.
On July 15, 1889, he was united in marriage with Miss Minnie Voss at Manitowoc and nine years later the couple located at Thorp. A good farmer, neighbor and citizen, Mr. Meyer had done his full duty in his span of life and done it well.
Besides an aged widow, he leaves to mourn, three sons, Arthur, Stanley, Elmer of Thorp, and John of Detroit, Mich., four daughters, Mrs. Peter Turenne, Thorp, Mrs. Walter Casper, Kiel, Mrs. Emma Bunge, Random Lake, Wis., Mrs. H.B. Austin, lake Beulah, Wis., one brother, Joseph Meyer of Thorp, twenty-five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held at the Bogumill Funeral Home at two o’clock Thursday afternoon, Rev. F.H. Sprengler officiating, burial taking place in Reseburg Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Andrew Abramczuk, Cesar Barth, August Ehlert, George Biddle, John Barth and Wm. Darge.
