Nelson, Miss (Marriage - 2 May 1942)

At the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Palmer on Sunday, May 3rd, a dinner was given to the immediate relatives in honor of their son, Joseph, who arrived Saturday night from Milwaukee with his bride.

The ceremony took place at two p.m. May second, in Milwaukee. The attendants were Miss Mildred Madsen and Arthur Schultz of Milwaukee.

The groom, who was reared in Neillsville, needs no introduction. He attended the public schools, graduating with the class of 1940. After completing the high school course, he attended Central State Teachers college at Stevens Point for one year. Since then he has been employed in Milwaukee by the Pittsburg Plate Glass Company.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Nelson of Hawkins, Wis. She attended the public schools of that place, graduating with the class of 1939. For the past three years she has been a student at Central State, majoring in English and Science. She also is co-production manager of college radio broadcasts, her ability as such having been proven in no small way.

The charming personalities of these young people have won for them warm friendships in various localities.

The out of town guests attending the dinner were Mr. and Mrs. Merle Dokken of Madison, brother-in-law and sister of the groom; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Palmer of Madison, an uncle and aunt of the groom and Mr. and Mrs. M. M. Blish, Neillsville, also the groom’s uncle and aunt.
