Miller, Mary J. (May 1, 1924 - August 17, 2007)
Mary J. Miller, age 83, longtime Town of Worden resident, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 17, 2007 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, WI.
Services were held on Monday, August 20, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Stanley Church of the Brethren, Stanley, WI with Pastor Erwin Witmer officiating. Burial followed in the South Worden Cemetery. Friends and family called on Sunday evening from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the Plombon Funeral Chapel, Stanley, WI and one hour prior to the service time at the church on Monday morning. Plombon Funeral Service assisted the family with arrangements.
Mary was born on May 1, 1924 in Stanley, WI, the daughter to Frank "Dewey" & Mary (Carmein) Krueger. She grew up in the Stanley area and attended area rural schools. She was then united in marriage to Don Miller on August 30, 1941 in Stanley, WI. They lived and farmed in the Town of Worden for over 40 years. Mary was an active member of the Stanley Church of the Brethren, the South Worden Women’s Circle, and was also the correspondent for the Town of Worden for the Stanley Republican and Thorp Courier newspapers. She enjoyed her flowers and gardening, sewing and quilting, traveling and camping, and will be lovingly remembered by her family as being the best mother and grandmother in the world!
Survivors include her five children: Jeanne (Terry) Briggs of Janesville, WI, Betty (Victor) Melichar of Green Bay, WI, Cheri (Larry) Gerrits and Gerald (Connie) Miller both of Stanley, WI, and John Miller of Greenwood, WI, grandchildren: Gary & Rob Ryniec, Kim Johnson, Toni (Dan) Back, Jodi (Todd) Louis, Angie Weaver, Kris (Joe) Charais, Chad (Heather) Miller, David Miller, Holly (Marshall) Gause, Katie (Chet) Lindgren, Carrie (Ricky) Frith, and Mike Miller; nineteen great-grandchildren; and one sister, Betty Swope.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Don Miller in 2005. Mary will be celebrating her 66th wedding anniversary August 30 in heaven with her beloved!
