Locals
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Schnabel and daughter drove to Blanchardville Friday to get Miss Vila Hanchman, who has been teaching in that city.
Wheeler Forman left Sunday for Marion, Wis., where he has accepted a position.
Caleb Dedriksen, brother of Dr. Sarah Rosekrans, arrived here Friday on his way home to Riverside, Conn., for a short visit in the Rosekrans home.
Mrs. Samuel Cook attended the funeral of an old friend, Mrs. Anna Williams, at Granton Thursday.
Mr. and Mrs. Elgie Cunningham of Red Mound and her sister, Miss Ada Smith, Neillsville, spent Sunday at the Arthur Syth home in the town of Eaton.
Mr. and Mrs. Albert Kuehling have rented the Tyler Thompson house on South Court Street, which recently was vacated by the C. S. Gassen family.
Mr. and Mrs. Werner Jenni and children, Loraine and Roland, have moved to Northwood, Iowa, where they will reside. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Blum moved there two weeks ago. Mr. Blum being employed by Mr. Jenni who conducts a cheese factory there. Gordon Zank and family of Augusta will occupy the Jenni house on South Clay Street.
Robert Yorkston and Miss Doris Coffin spent the weekend with the latter’s brother, Stanley Coffin, at Rice Lake.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold, Schnabel and daughter have rented the former Ole Hansen house on South Grand Avenue, moving there on Saturday.
Charles Neff, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Neff, Levis Township, underwent a tonsillectomy at the Neillsville Hospital Thursday.
Mrs. E. A. Peterson and baby son of Eau Claire stopped in Neillsville Thursday to call on friends on her way to Granton to spend a few says with Mr. Peterson’s folks.
Mr. and Mrs. Warner Jenni made a trip to Madison last week where their daughter, Loraine made arrangements to enter the Groves-Barnhart School of Business. They also went to Watertown to get Mrs. Erich Sievert and daughter, who remained with Mrs. Sievert’s mother for a few weeks after the death of her husband.
Mr. and Mrs. Roy Montgomery have moved from Valley City, N. D., to 1315 South 8th Street, Fargo, according to word received from Mr. Montgomery last week.
Mrs. Ernest Karnitz and Miss Helen Wren drove to West Bend Thursday to spent the weekend with their sister.
Catharine Carley, 12, who lived in the home of Dr. and Mrs. A. Grindy, Chicago, made a ten-day visit here recently, spending much of her time skating at the rinks in this community. Roller-skating is the young woman’s best loved hobby.
Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Meier and baby son drove to Waupaca on Thursday to spend a day or two with his folks.
William Wilsman, who is employed with the war department, came home from Kolar, Wis., to spend the weekend with his family. He makes his headquarters in Milwaukee.
Mr. and Mrs. A. Z. Domine and son, Vincent of Alma Center were dinner guests of Dr. M. A. and Leo Foster Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. P. M. Warlum returned home Thursday morning from Milwaukee where she spent two weeks.
Mr. and Mrs. Rod Quinlan spent mother’s day with his mother and other relatives at Eau Claire.
Joseph F. Zimmer left Wednesday night to enter the veteran’s administration hospital at Minneapolis for examination and treatment.
Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Yankee and Miss Ella Pollnow went to Eau Claire the first of last week to see their sister, Mrs. Susie Solie, who underwent a major operation at one of the hospitals.
