BACCALAUREATE AT GRANTON SUNDAY

Class of 36 Members will Receive Diplomas at Exercises May 21

Granton - Baccalaureate services for Granton High School’s class of 1942, number 26 students, will be held in the Methodist Church at 8 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Obed Asp will give the address.

Commencement exercises will be held the following Thursday, May 21, in the Granton Village hall, staring at 8 p.m. The commencement address will be delivered by Prof. O. W. Neale, of the Stevens Point State Teachers college faculty.

Valedictorian of this year’s graduating class id Dolores Lehmann, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Lehmann of the town of York. Besides participation in the Library Club, Glee club, newspaper staff and forensic work, she maintained an average of 95.43 for her four years of high school studies. She plans to enter the state teachers college at Eau Claire next fall.

Hazel Dahl, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Dahl, also of the town of York, is the salutatorian of the 1942 class. She has been active in the Glee club and served as editor of the school newspaper as well as the 1942 Year Book. In addition to these activities, Miss Dahl was valuable to her school in rendering secretarial work and operating the school’s duplicating machines for the last two years. She maintained a scholastic average of 91.96 for the four years of high school. She plans to train for office work.

Both Miss Lehmann and Miss Dahl will have a part in the commencement program.
