Gosar, Mary (Marriage - April 27, 1946)
Given in marriage by her father, Miss Mary Gosar, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Gosar of Greenwood R. 3, became the bride of Frank J. Artac, son of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Artac, Willard. The nuptial double ring ceremony was performed at 9:30 AM on April 27, 1946 by Rev. Raphael Stragisher at Holy Family Catholic Church at Willard, Wis.
The wedding march was played by Mrs. Ivan Ruzich, sister of the groom.
The bride wore a white satin gown with a full net skirt and carried a bouquet of white carnations and calla lillies. She wore a gold necklace, a gift from the groom.
She was attended by her sister Miss Ann Gosar and a cousin Loretta Koncon, of Waukegan as bridesmaids. They wore pink and blue marquisette dresses with full net skirts and sweetheart necklines with arm bouquets of pink and white carnations. In their hair they wore blusher veils.
Frances Gosar as flower girl, wore a white net dress and carried a basket of fresh flowers.
The groom wore a dark blue suit and was attended by his brother Lud Artac and Tony Gosar brother of the bride who also wore dark suits.
The mothers of the bride and groom wore dresses of Copenhagen blue with corsages of mixed flowers.
The dining room was decorated with pink, white and blue streamers and a large wedding cake, baked by the brides mother centered the table. Dinner was served to the immediate families at noon and to about 200 relatives and friends in the evening. A free wedding dance was given at the West Side Hall at Willard in the evening.
Mrs. Artac graduated from the Lake County Beauty Culture School at Waukegan, Ill. and was employed as a beauty operator in Waukegan for 4 1/2 years.
Mr. Artac served with the armed forces for 45 months with 36 months overseas. He held the rank of Master Sgt. at the time of his honorable discharge last November. He is now doing electrical and plumbing work in this community. They are making their home 3 miles west of Greenwood.
Out of town guests included Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Haug and children and Mrs. Jennie Igowski and children of Milwaukee. Mr. and Mrs. Tony Gosar, Mr. and Mrs. Valentine Gosar, Mrs. Frank Schneider and daughter Elizabeth, Mrs. John Koncon, Loretta and Tommy, all of Waukegan, Ill.
