Smudde, Lester Charles (8 Jan. 1935 - 12 Mar. 1936)

Funeral services for Lester Charles Smudde, age one year, two months and four days, were held at St. Mary’s Catholic church Monday morning, Rev. Theodore Jaeressen officiating, and internment was made in the Colby cemetery. The child died last Thursday night, being ill since the previous Sunday, diabetes being the cause of his departure to the distant shore. Besides the parents he is survived by three brothers, Wilbert, George and Raymond.

The pall bearers were Donald Becker, David Stieber, Andrew Sukup and Emanuel Firnstahl. Out of town people here for the funeral services were Harry Kesler of Marshfield, Mrs. William Jensen of Spencer and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Jordan of Unity.
