Miller, John E. (21 Apr. 1854 - 25 Apr. 1936)

There are still a few old friends here who will be grieved to learn that John E. Miller, an old resident, passed away at the home of his grand daughter, Mrs. E. R. Graf, Indiana Harbor, Ind., on April 25th. He was 82 years old on April 21st. The family lived here a long while and during a part of that time he was a member of the bridge crew for the old Wisconsin Central R.R. He also belonged to the Odd Fellows. They moved to Chicago about twenty-five years ago. Besides the grand daughter, he leaves a daughter, Mrs. Ed. J. Healy, or Myrtle, as she was better known to her many friends. The funeral was held at Hicksville, Ohio, and the remains laid beside those of his wife who preceded him a few years ago. There is always a feeling of regret when we must chronicle the passing of these old friends who at one time were so closely associated with all the affairs and doings of our little city.
