Marquardt, Anita (Marriage - 6 June 1936)

Miss Anita Marquardt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Marquardt of Milan, and Raymond E. Tonn, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul H. Tonn, of Milwaukee, were united in marriage at the Zebaoth Lutheran church, Milwaukee, on Saturday, June 6th, at 4 P.M., the Rev. Arthur Tacke officiating. The bride wore a beautiful gown of white mousseline desoie with veil in long train trimmed with four rows of satin braid. She carried a shower of roses and assorted flowers. Her sister, Miss Hildegard Marquardt, Milan, was her maid of honor and wore a dress of blue mousseline desoie and her bouquet consisted of orange roses. The bridesmaids, Miss Nora Kallien, Sheboygan, and Miss Ruth Miller, Milwaukee, wore dresses of yellow and pink mous saline desoie respectively and their bouquets of roses matched their dresses. The best man, Paul Tonn, is the only brother of the groom. The bride was given away by her father. A wedding dinner was given at Shorecrest Hotel. The bride’s mother wore a dress of orchid color and the groom’s mother a white dress with orchid trimmings. Each wore corsages of orchids and orange roses which were presented to them by the groom. After a honeymoon in Door county, the newlyweds will be at home at 3338 No. Palmer St., Milwaukee. After the young couple left, Mr. Marquardt and Mrs. Tonn celebrated their birthday anniversaries at the home of the groom’s parents. The bride spent most of her life at Milan. She is a graduate of the Stratford high school. During the past two years she has been employed at Milwaukee. Her friendly smile and courteous ways have gained for her hosts of friends who wish her happiness and prosperity. The groom, a chemical engineer, is employed at Cudahy, Wis., has at different times visited here. Out of town guests were: Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Marquardt and daughters, Hildegard and Wilma, and son, Billie, Mr. and Mrs. William Krause, Milan, and Mr. and Mrs. E. Tonn, Curtiss, Wis.
