Phaneuf, Gunild Marie (8 May 1861 - 25 Sept. 1936)
Mrs. Gunild Marie Phaneuf of Abbotsford passed away at her home Friday at 1:15 P.M., a series of complications being the cause of her death. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at 1:30 at the home and at 2:00 o’clock at the Presbyterian church, Rev. L. C. Smith officiating and internment was made in the Dorchester cemetery.
The deceased was born May 8th, 1861. Her first marriage took place at Colby August 4th, 1882, to Gunder Johnson who died in 1908. In 1912 she was married to Oscar Phaneuf who also preceded her in death. For thirty-five years she lived on a farm two miles west of Abbotsford, but, in 1917, she moved to Abbotsford with her husband where she lived until she died.
Surviving are one son, Iver Johnson of Medford, four step-daughters, Bessie Phaneuf and Mrs. Blanche Bell of Chippewa Falls and Mrs. Hazel Wilhelmi and Mrs. Grace Lundahl of Abbotsford and two step-sons, Gordon of Abbotsford and Charles of Montana. One step-son, Frank Phaneuf, preceded her in death.
