Horn, Minnie E. (9 Nov. 1872 - 25 Nov. 1936)
Minnie E. Horn, wife of James W. Horn of Riverside, died at the Wausau Memorial Hospital Wednesday, November 25th, 1936. Her death followed an illness of two months during which time she submitted to two major operations.
Mrs. Horn was born in Quasqueton, Iowa, on November 9th, 1872. She was the daughter of Thomas E. and Emma Hurd Turner.
On December 11, 1895, she was married to James W. Horn of Minneapolis. They resided in Minneapolis a number of years, later moving to Aberdeen, South Dakotaa, and coming to Colby in 1915.
Funeral services were conducted at the Abbotsford Presbyterian church on Friday afternoon, Rev. L. C. Smith officiating. The remains were then taken to Minneapolis where on Saturday a service was held in the Washburn Chapel. At this service Rev. M. C. Durnam, formerly of the Abbotsford Presbyterian church, officiated. Internment took place at the Hillside Cemetery, Minneapolis.
She is survived by her husband, James W. Horn of Riverside, two sons, Capt. Stanley Horn of Louisville and Donald Horn of Oshkosh, a daughter, Miss Gladys Horn of Milwaukee, four sisters, three brothers, and four grandchildren.
Among the out of town people who attended the Friday services were Mr. George E. Horn and Miss Elizabeth Stanley of Minneapolis, brother and sister of Mr. Horn, Mr. and Mrs. W. York of Oshkosh and Mr. Floyd Sample of Withee, Wisconsin.
