Bender, Florence (Marriage - 11 Dec. 1936)
At a pretty ceremony performed last Friday afternoon at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Bender in Athens, formerly of the town of Hull, their daughter, Florence, and Laurence Denzine, Abbotsford, exchanged nuptial vows before the Rev. E. E. Schieler, pastor of the Evangelical Lutheran church of Athens. The house was decorated for the occasion with streamers of white and peach crepe paper.
For her wedding the bride chose a gown of white satin and a long tulle veil worn with a beaded headdress. Her bouquet was composed of sunburst roses and white pompoms.
Miss Avenelle Bender, who attended as bridesmaid, was attired in a frock of peach pebble crepe and wore a wrist bouquet of sweetpeas, rosebuds, and pompoms. Delbert Denzine, Abbotsford, attended as best man.
A supper with covers laid for twenty-three followed the ceremony and later in the evening a dance was given at Jerkwater hall. The couple will go to housekeeping immediately at Blackwell, deferring their wedding trip until next summer.
