Vetrovec, Vincent (19 July 1861 - 17 Feb. 1937)
Vincent Vetrovec died at the Marshfield hospital Wednesday night, a tumor on the bladder being the cause of his departure to the distant shore. Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 9:30 at St. Mary’s Catholic church, Rev. L. J. Lang officiating, and internment will be made in the Colby cemetery.
The deceased was born in Zechoslavakia July 19, 1861, and came to the United States in 1878, residing in Chicago until 1894. He was married to Mary Zelek in Chicago May 25, 1891. They moved to the town of Hull in 1894 where they engaged in the business of farming. Six years ago, he and Mrs. Zelek moved to the city of Colby.
Surviving are his widow, an adopted son, John, two sister in laws, Mrs. Joe Sazama of Colby and Mrs. Joe Probitz of Cleveland, Ohio, and a brother in law, John Zelek of the town of Hull. One adopted son died twenty-three years ago.
The deceased was a faithful member of St. Mary’s congregation, always honest in all his dealings. He was of a friendly and neighborly disposition and his many friends were sorry to hear of his sudden departure.
