Neillsville - Personals

Miss Bonnie Beilfuss of Chicago, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Beilfuss of this city, was appointed last week on the Chicago Nutrition Board. This board is composed of the heads of Chicago Nutrition agencies. Among others, Dr. Blair, head of the Chicago University Home Economics School. Miss Beilfuss of the Elizabeth McCormick Foundation was selected from that institution to serve on the board.

The Rev. Ellery Beal of Marshfield stopped here on his way home from the Methodist conference at Eau Claire Monday for a round of golf with the Rev. O. Asp. He also had supper with the Asp family before returning home.

Dr. F. M. Garman spent Sunday at his farm at Alma Center.

Mrs. Nate Sellers was taken to the Marshfield Hospital Tuesday for an operation at St. John’s Hospital.

John Mattson lost the nail of the middle finger of his right hand and also cut off the end of the finger Tuesday morning when he caught it in the thumb latch of his garage door.

Mrs. M. M. Blish is spending this week at Madison, taking treatments in the Wisconsin General Hospital.

Mr. and Mrs. Harry Potoff and two children spent the weekend here with his sister, Mrs. O. Asp, and family, taking Mrs. Asp and the two little girls with them on a trip to Wisconsin Dells. The Potoffs live in St. Paul.

Patricia and Sheldon Allen Mapleton, Iowa, arrived Friday to spent the summer with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Degener.

Miss Jane Huff and Miss Marcella Schmidt of Milwaukee are visiting at the home of former’s grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. M. M. Blish. They expect to stay during the summer months.

Miss Marion Carl has taken the position as cashier at the Farmers Store, Miss Leona Wedekind taking the position at the Penney store which was made vacant by Miss Carl’s resignation.

Mr. and Mrs. Earl Ruedy and son, Donald, spent the weekend with relatives at Cochrane.

Mr. and Mrs. T. Christofferson and daughter, Mary, of Junead stopped here Sunday on their way to Duluth to spend Mr. Christofferson’s vacation fishing and visiting with relatives, Miss Mildred Schiller accompanied them.

Mr. and Mrs. Wellen Hartson are spending the week at their cottage spending the w eek at their cottage at Prairie Lake, this being Mr. Hartson’s vacation.

Mrs. H. G. Kvool, Mrs. Frank Webb, Miss Alice Sollberger and Mrs. Theodore Viergutz are attending summer school at Stevens Point.

Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Tyler of Saginaw, Mich., arrived Friday to visit his father, Thomas Tyler, and his brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Poole. They had planned to returned home about Wednesday.

Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Eggleston have rented the Mrs. Minnie Bradbury house on Division Street into which they expect to moved about July first.

Mr. and Mrs. John Anderson and son of Chicago have been guests of his sister, Mrs. Esther Green. Mrs. Green and her guests

Mrs. Lowes’s sister, Mrs. Belle Walls, left the same day for Yacima, Wash., where she makes her home with a daughter.

Miss Betty Lockerby came home Thursday after a week’s visit with friends at Bloomer, where she spent a week after graduating from the University of Minnesota. Mr. and Mrs. F. L. Lockerby attended the graduation exercises.

The Carl Olson house, occupied by Mr. and Mrs. William Schroeder and family and the George West house which is occupied by the Ray Kauffman family are being re-painted. The former will be white with red trim, the West house being white, trimmed in green.

Robert Roessler, who spent three weeks, here with his father, Otto Roessler, left Tuesday morning for New York City to enter Columbia Medical School.

Bonnie Van Gorden returned Tuesday after a three-week visit with her grandparents at Eau Claire. Her cousin, Cyrena Van Gordon, who spent about a week there, came home Wednesday.

Miss Grace Kauffman is expected home today (Thursday) from Washington, D. C., for a brief vacation. Her co-workers gave her a farewell luncheon at the Woodrow and Lothrup, Department store cafeteria Monday noon and presented her with a lovely gift. Miss Kauffman having been transferred to Chicago where she will begin work July sixth. There will be a family reunion at the Ray Kauffman home Sunday. Mr. Kauffman of Rockford, Ill., coming home for the occasion. This will be the first time that all of the members of the family, have been at home together in three years.

Miss Shirley Peterson is attending Groves-Barnhardt School of Business at Madison, her parents, Attorney and Mrs. John M. Peterson and daughter, Donna Rae, taking her there Friday.

Mr. and Mrs. Sevien Bonskole, Marshfield, were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Francis Sunday.

Ronald Meihack, 13, and his brother, Marvin 9, sons of Mr. and Mrs. George Meihack of the town of Pine Valley, started off along Saturday for Glendive, Montana, where they will spend about eight weeks visiting an aunt and working on the ranch. The boys are promise some fine trips off of Glendive.

Mr. and Mrs. Walter Klug of Milwaukee arrived here Saturday to spend several days with her mother, Mrs. Alvina Allen and family and with other relatives in the community. Mrs. Klug is the former Miss Charlotte Allen.

Miss Joyce Kleckner returned home Monday evening from Madison where she spent a week with a friend. Miss Bee Bradford, after completing her school work at Sheboygan.

Mrs. W. B. Tufts has returned to Neillsville after an auto trip which took her to Birmingham and Detroit. She was with a party which included Mrs. W. C. Tuffs and Mrs. Amy Marsh of Marshfield. She say the Cranbrook school, Greenfield Village, and returning, visited the House of David at Benton Harbor.
