Schopfer, John (1878 - 11 SEP 1937)

Funeral services were held Wednesday from the Griebenow-Weirich Funeral Parlors for John Schopfer, 59, who died Saturday at the General Hospital at Madison. Rev. J.H. Rostad officiated at the services. Burial was made in the Pine Hill Cemetery at Curtiss (Clark Co., Wis.).

John Schopfer was born in 1878 in Switzerland and came to this county in 1906. For the past 19 years he ahs made his home near Owen (Clark Co.), and at the time of his death his family resided on a farm three miles north of Owen, Wis.

In 1913 John Schopfer was united in marriage to Miss Edith Hamm. To this union eight children were born, Arnold, Harold, Clarence, Lester, Dorothy, Lorraine, Flora and Evelyn. Mrs. Schopfer preceded her husband in death eight years ago.

Rev. and Mrs. Rostad sang two duets at the services, "Jesus, Lover of My Soul" and "Rock of Ages." Mrs. Rostad sang a solo "Sometime We’ll Understand."
