Sjostrom, Agnes (26 DEC 1937)
Miss Agnes Sjostrom, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Sjostrom of the
town of Green Grove (Clark Co., Wis.), was united in marriage at a
private service, only immediate friends attending, at St.
Katherine’s Church, Owen, Sunday, Dec. 26, 1937, to Archie H.
Smith of Barron. Father Ronald E. Ortmayer officiated at the
service.
The bride was attired in a suit of Forest Green and wore a corsage
of red roses, she was attended by her sister, Mrs. Oscar Anderson
of Chicago.
The groom was dressed in a suit of navy blue and wore a white
carnation boutonniere, he was attended by Oscar Anderson of
Chicago, a brother-in-law of the bride. He wore a dark grey suit
with a white carnation boutonniere.
The bride was graduated from the Owen High School in 1926, she then
attended Eau Claire Teachers College, where she took a high school
teacher’s course, from which she graduated in 1930. She was
then employed as a teacher in the high school at Barron for six
years. The past few months she has been employed as a clerk in the
Picus’ store.
The groom is a graduate of the Barron High School and also of the
Valparaiso, Ind., Radio School. He has for the past few years
successfully operated an electrical contracting and radio business
in Barron.
Their many friends in Owen and Barron are sincere in wishing the
couple a successful wedded life.
