Kidd, Nancy (AUG 1938)
Sacramento, Calif., Jan. 8, 1938 - A transcontinental romance is
that of John Lyon Kennedy of Palo Alto, formerly of this city, and
Miss Nancy Kidd of Owen, Clark Co., Wis. Their engagement is being
announced, they’ve already set August as the month for the
wedding, and it will take place in Wisconsin. The couple will come
to Palo Alto to live.
Mr. Kennedy is the son of Mr. James S. Kennedy of this city. He
graduated from Sacramento Junior College and in 1934 from the
department of Psychology at Stanford.
He was an assistant and a fellow in psychology at Brown University,
Providence, R.I., where he received his Ph.D., for two years, and a
research assistant in the school of medicine at Yale
University.
He now is a psychical research fellow at Stanford University and he
is a member of Sigma Xi, national research honorary fraternity, and
Phi Beta Kappa fraternity.
Miss Kidd is the daughter of Mr. Earl W. Kidd of Owen, Wis. She was
educated at Kemper Hall in Milwaukee and graduated in 1936 from
Vassar College, Poughkeepsie, N.Y. She is research assistant in the
department of pharmacology, Yale School of Medicine.
Mr. Kennedy returned Friday from the east, where he also visited
his brother, Mr. Don Kennedy.
In Indianapolis he gave a radio talk on his work, the psychology
section, American Association for the Advancement of Science,
having been the sponsoring group.
