Grothe, Ruth (10 SEP 1906 - 28 FEB 1938)

Mrs. Ernest Grothe passed away Monday, Feb. 28, 1938, at the St. Joseph’s Hospital at Chippewa Falls, suffering from pneumonia.

Ruth Bjornstad, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sever Bjornstad, was born Sept. 10th, 1906 in the city of Owen (Clark Co., Wis.). She was educated in the Owen grade and high schools. After graduating she was employed at the State Home for Children at Chippewa Falls. She possessed a sunny disposition and a very keen sense of humor, radiating joy and happiness in any circle she entered. She was of the understanding type and possessed a deep human sympathy for those in sorrow or distress as was shown in her work.

On June 1, 1920, she was united in marriage to Ernest Grothe of Pine City, Minn. To this union was born one child, Roland Grothe, age 7.

Among those bereaving her passing are her husband and child, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sever Bjornstad; two sisters, Mrs. Oscar Grant and Alyce, and four brothers, Selmer, Arnold and Molly, all of Owen, and Arthur of Cadott.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, March 3, from Bennett and LaFranie Funeral Parlors at Chippewa Falls, with Rev. Schrein officiating. Interment was made in the Riverside Cemetery.

Pallbearers at the service were: Albert Gund, John Voglu, Eugene Golden, Everett Mueller, Fred Miller and Floyd Beaudette.
