Brown, Violet Elene (Marriage - 30 June 1942)

Miss Violet Elene Brown of Beaumont, Calif., and Donald Vincent Burrows, a fireman, second class, in the U. S. Navy, son of Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Burrows, Fresno, Calif., formerly of Neillsville, were united in marriage on the evening of June 30th in the Riverside home of his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Clement Rowe.

The ceremony was conducted before the living room fireplace which was banked with greenery and flowers in the national colors. A reception followed the ceremony.

The bride was attired in an afternoon street-length frock of white crepe, cut with a draped bodice, short sleeves and a full skirt. Her corsage was made up of white stephanotis. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Chester Brown of Beaumont, where she was graduated from high school.

The groom was stationed in San Diego at the time of their marriage where the couple established a home until such time as he may be transferred. He was graduated from the Roosevelt high school and also attended the Fresno State Teachers College. At the time of his enlistment last November, he was employed by James W. McAlister, Inc. He is the brother of Mrs. Ernest (Ava) Wilson of Pittsburg, Calif. Mrs. Wilson was born in Neillsville; Donald was born in Chicago after the parents moved to that city from Neillsville, Wis.

Mrs. V. C. Burrows, Fresno, was among the wedding guests.
