Weller, Dorothy (Marriage - 7 Aug. 1937)
Miss Dorothy Weller, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Weller of Loyal, formerly of Unity, and Karl Ryberg of Chicago were married Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock at St. John’s Evangelical and Reformed church in Colby, Rev. S. Schmiechen performing the ceremony. Mrs. O. H. Davis presided at the organ and played Lohengrin’s wedding march and "Take Thou My Hand and Lead Me" and the choir sang, "Lord Jesus, I Love Thee." Miss Hilda Weller acted as maid of honor and Miss Erna Weller as bridesmaid. The groom was attended by Ernest Ryberg and Henry Hoffmann.
The bride wore a gown of white satin, a long silk net veil trimmed with chantilly lace and arranged in coronet style caught with orange blossoms and seed pearls. She carried a shower bouquet of tea roses and lilies of the valley. The maid of honor and the bridesmaid were attired in light blue and peach organdy over taffeta, styled in redingote fashion, with accessories to match. Both carried colonial bouquets of pink roses.
After the ceremony a reception was held at the parish hall and a dinner was served at 6:00 o’clock to relatives and intimate friends.
After a wedding trip, the young people will reside at 5135 Kenwood avenue, Chicago, where the groom is employed as an engineer.
