Oestreich, Veryle #2 (12 MAR 1922 - 2 MAR 1938)

Miss Veryle Oestreich passed away last Wednesday, March 2, 1938, at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Oestreich, where she had been tenderly cared for since taken ill a week ago Saturday with pneumonia, which she could not overcome.

Veryle was born March 12th, 1922 at Loyal, Clark Co., Wis., where she lived with her parents and sister, Arlene, util they moved to Withee (Clark Co.) last fall, where Mr. Oestreich purchased and is operating a Shell service station. Veryle attended school at Loyal, where she was graduated from eighth grade and entered high school. Upon moving to Withee, she resumed her high school studies in the Withee school where she rapidly acquired the friendship of all classmates and associates. She loved school activities and was a one hundred per cent supporter of all undertakings sponsored by her class and school. She had been acting in the capacity of a cheerleader in support of the Withee High School team. Veryle possessed a winning personality and radiated joy and happiness in all of her surroundings. She displayed wonderful fortitude during her brief illness.

Funeral services were conducted last Saturday from the home of Veryle’s uncle, Lother Oestreich at Loyal at 1:30 p.m. and at 2:00 p.m. from the Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. J.C. Langholz officiating. Interment was made in the Loyal Cemetery.

Besides her parents, Veryle is survived by one sister, Arlene, 10, and her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Oestreich, Loyal and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Vetter, Stratford.
