Laabs, Henry (1937 - 3 MAY 1938)

Henry, six months old son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Laabs Jr., Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), route 1, was instantly killed and his parents injured in a head on automobile collision on County Highway N west of Colby at 12:30 Tuesday.
Mrs. Laabs was taken home after receiving treatment for cuts, bruises and lacerations at the Colby Clinic. Mr. Laabs was rushed to St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, where he underwent an immediate operation for a knee fracture.
The body of the child was taken to the Central Wis. Cooperative Burial Association undertaking parlors at Spencer.
Coroner P.C. Ludovic, Neillsville, left for the scene of the accident. Witnesses report that the Laabs car and another driven by Joe Steinwand Jr., Colby, collided head on. Steinwand escaped injury.
