Peterson, Byrdine J. (25 JUN 1938)
Word has been received here (Owen, Clark Co., Wis.) of the marriage of Whitman Rork, son of Mr. and Mrs. C.V. Rork, former residents of this city. The ceremony was of unusual loveliness and interest. It was solemnized last Saturday afternoon, June 25th, 1938, at the First Congregational Church in Eau Claire, when Miss Byrdine Janet Peterson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. O.H. Peterson, became his bride. The Rev. Hansen Bergen performed the ceremony.
The groom was attended by his brother, Allen.
A reception was held in the Community House of the church after the ceremony where refreshments were served.
Both the bride and groom are graduates of the Eau Claire Senior High School. The bride has just completed her junior year at the University of Wisconsin where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority.
Mr. Rork attended the University of Minnesota where he distinguished himself as a member of the Minnesota football team that took the national championship three years in succession and awarded him three golden footballs, one of the highest honors possible in the football world.
Mr. and Mrs. Rork have gone on an automobile tour of the east and will be at home upon their return at 508 West Grand Av., Eau Claire, where the groom has furnished an apartment. Mr. Rork is connected with the Northern States Power Co. there.
The young couple are sincerely wished a happy wedded life by their numerous friends about Owen, Wis.
