Lownik, Leo P. (18 May 1930 - 15 Sept. 2007)
NEILLSVILLE -- Leo P. Lownik, 77, of Neillsville died Sept. 15, 2007, at Saint Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield.
Memorial services will take place at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, 2007, at the American Legion Hall in Neillsville, Wis.
Leo was born May 18, 1930, to Leo and Lola (Nicks) Lownik. He entered into active military service on April 15, 1953, during the Korean Conflict. He was stationed at Ft. Monmouth, N.J., in Signal School. He also served at Camp Cordon, Ga., and at the time of his separation on April 14, 1955, he was stationed at Ft. Huachuca, Ariz.
Upon graduation, he practiced law with his father in Richland Center and later served as district attorney in Crandon.
Leo married Sandra A. Sippey on July 20, 1968. They lived in Baraboo for four years where he worked as business manager for a local construction company and as personnel manager for Klein Industries.
Leo and Sandra moved to Neillsville in 1972 where he opened an abstract office, Clark County Land & Title.
Leo is survived by his wife of 39 years, Sandra Lownik of Neillsville; one brother, Dr. James Lownik of Wisconsin Rapids; and one sister, Mary Weickgenant of Minneapolis, Minn.
