Beck, Sofia (20 JAN 1861 - 29 SEP 1938)

Mrs. Carl Beck passed away at noon today at her home. Death was due to complications of old age. Mrs. Beck had been ill for the past couple of weeks and had been confined to her home and bed. She was 77 years of age at the time of her passing.

Mrs. Beck was born Jan. 20, 1861, in Sweden, where she spent her early childhood. Later she moved to America. She was united in marriage to Carl Beck and to this happy union was born one child, a daughter, Laura, Mrs. L.E. Bulgrin.

In 1900 Mrs. Beck and her husband moved from Sherard, Ill., to Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), where she has since resided.

Mrs. Beck was a dear, lovable person, with an unlimited number of friends. She was an attentive and wonderful mother and wife with a love for beauty and nature. She was a devoted Christian woman and always taught the ideals of Christianity in her home and practiced them in everyday life.

Her passing is mourned by her husband, daughter, several grandchildren and a host of grief-stricken friends.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday afternoon, Oct. 1st, from the Griebenow-Weirich Funeral Parlors, with Rev. J.H. Rostad officiating at the services. Interment will be made in Riverside Cemetery.
