Warmbrodt, Bernice (Marriage - 30 Apr. 1938)
On Saturday, April 30th, at 3:40 in the afternoon, Miss Bernice Warmbrodt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Warmbrodt, became the bride of Reverend Siegfried A. Schmiechen, pastor of the Evangelical and Reformed church of Colby, Wisconsin. The ceremony was performed in the Carondelet Evangelical and Reformed church in St. Louis, Missouri, by the Reverend Samuel J. Schmiechen, brother of the groom. The church was beautifully decorated with palms, ferns and candelabra.
The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, was gowned in ivory satin, designed on princess lines, with a collar of hand made lace. Her veil was Madonna style finger tip length ivory illusion. The bouquet was gardenias and white sweet peas.
Miss Mildred Hortsmann was the bridesmaid. She was gowned in corn flower blue patterned net and carried a bouquet of talisman roses and blue delphinium. Reverend Kurt Schmiechen was his brother’s best man.
After the ceremony, a reception was held for the young couple in the parish hall of the church.
The bride and groom will leave St. Louis to make their home in Colby, Wis., where the groom is pastor of the Evangelical and Reformed church.
