Machlett, Margaret (17 Mar. 1856 - 11 Sept. 1938)

Mrs. Margaret Machlett died at Curtiss, Wisconsin at the home of her son, F. F. Machlett, Sunday, September 11th, after a lingering illness of two years. Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 13th, at the Evangelical Lutheran church, Rev. W. L. Anderson officiating, and internment was made in the Norwegian Lutheran cemetery. Pall bearers were Frank Mathias, Henry Peterson, G. Martin, Fred Theime, Henry Peterson, F. W. Laabs, Charles Jakel.

The deceased was born in Germany in 1856 and reached the age of 82 years, 5 months and 25 days. She came to the United States with her parents when five weeks old and settled at Kiel, Wisconsin. She was married to Henry Machlett on September 1874 at Plymouth, Wis., and came to Clark county in 1877.

She is survived by one daughter and two sons - Mrs. O. C. Cox of Keenan, Wis., Fred Machlett of Curtiss and Ben Machlett of Eau Claire, Wis. Also one sister, Mrs. Katie Kleinhuas.

Mrs. Machlett always strived to help others and her home was always open to all.

Relatives attending the funeral included: Mr. and Mrs. F. F. Machlett, Curtiss; Mr. and Mrs. Ben Machlett, Eau Claire, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Machlett, Cleveland, Ohio; Mrs. O. C. Cox, Kennan, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Rise and daughter, Jacquelyn, Clintonville, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Bever, and daughter, Connie Rusch, Rib Lake; Mr. and Mrs. William Klug, Merrill, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Machlett, Marshfield, Wis.; and Earl and Arthur Maes of Rib Lake, Wis.
